Chronic Tendonitis Chronic tendonitis (or chronic tendinitis) occurs when a tendon near a joint becomes inflamed, usually because of repetitive overuse. The condition will typically affects patients in the shoulder, elbow, knee, ankle and foot areas, as these are the most active and stressed joints. Close to 4 million people in the United States seek treatment each year for symptoms of tennis elbow alone! This one of the most common locations for chronic tendonitis and is quite common among athletes. Swinging a golf club or a tennis racquet repetitively can wear on a person's tendons and cause them to become inflamed. I have undergone 4 open rotary cuff surgeries in the past 8 years. They all have been very painful and long recovery time. I started using your Ultrasound System back in Feb. of 2010 when I new I had torn my cuff in the left shoulder again shovelling snow and ice. He was able to complete the tear of the biceps tendon, clean out the remainder of the excess scar tissue, grind down a spur in the joint and repair a surgical mistake from another Dr. 8 years ago because the scar tissue had been reduced enough to complete the process and see inside the area better. I am now 6 weeks out of surgery and I am already moving my arm and shoulder in P. T. and using it in almost all my daily functions. In the other procedures I was still sleeping in a recliner for 8 weeks and taking heavy duty pain killers before starting P.T. I feel the use of the unit and gel did make a big difference in the surgery and recovery of the tear. On top of that I have Arthritis in one knee.Having had ultrasound used on me at physical therapy at the hospital I found great relief from pain also I could feel the bottom of my foot which I have not experienced since M.S.took over my legs.
